Dataset description

The route plan service for driving calculates up to three different itineraries between two points. You can also set up to eight points of departure. The service is intended for developers who want to use the route calculator in their applications on the web or mobile. The service is a REST-inspired API and must be sufficiently well documented to be able to use it if you have usable programming skills. Data is available in open formats such as XML and JSON. By default, coordinates are delivered on the proprietary but openly available standard ESRI compact geometry, but with the parameter geometry format one can also choose more conventional formatting (gml, iso). Add z (gmlz, isoz) to include height coordinates on the geometry of the route suggestions. You must contact the Public Roads Administration (route plan snabelA vegvesen.no) to create a username and password for the service. URL to the service: https://www.vegvesen.no/ws/no/vegvesen/ruteplan/routingservice_v2_0/routingservice/ Note that the slash (slash)/behind routingservice/always must be included, such as routingservice_v2_0/routingservice/?stops=... Documentation: https://labs.vegdata.no/ruteplandoc/ We have created a simple web client for the service as test/demo, with open source.
