Dataset description

The API extracts data from nve.no across all 208 facilities presented in the books (published by NVE): Ponds as cultural monuments — 95 ponds Cultural monuments in Norwegian power generation — 27 power plants — 24 power lines and 19 substations Cultural monuments in watercourses — 62 watercourses There are many facilities to choose from, and those mentioned, shall together constitute a representative selection. It has therefore been an extensive and challenging task to decide which plants will be included. Many others could be involved, either in addition to or instead of one or more of the facilities currently being presented. The result should therefore not be interpreted to mean that only the facilities presented here are worthy of preservation as cultural monuments. They have been selected based on a number of criteria and different types of cultural heritage values, both material and intangible. The committee shall together constitute a representative sample. There is also a chronological and geographical distribution within the sample. This is combined with NVE’s map data to map all the facilities.
