Dataset description

Displays data on sea ice and more for Arctic and Antarctic seas. The products are globally and automatically generated and are manufactured. Based on satellite data from passive microwave satellites and delivered daily in a horizontal resolution of 10 km in a polarstereographic projection. The product has been developed as part of the EUMETSAT project Ocean and Sea Ice Satellite Application Facility (OSI SAF) whose main focus is to develop global sea ice products based on operational satellites. The products are used, among other things, by weather and ocean models, for environmental studies and for monitoring sea ice. The OSI SAF project focuses on high quality and validated products that are freely available to users.
