Dataset description

Map layer in the soil area dataset showing drainage conditions regardless of the ditch condition. A functioning trench system will be able to drain the largest pores of water so that air can penetrate the soil. About half of Norway’s full-grown and surface-grown soils are mapped, with emphasis on South-Eastern Norway, Trøndelag and Jæren. In some places, inland pastures are also mapped. The map layer is made on a scale 1:5000 and is adapted for use on scales from 1:5000 to 1:20 000. The property to be used to produce the map layer is called JR_DREN. Area in square meters is listed under AREA_C.
