Dataset description

Map layers in the Earth’s soil dataset showing the limiting impact of certain soil properties on the use of the Earth. The map layer shows limitations in four classes based on soil properties in combination with the terrain properties slope, amount of rock and block on the surface and frequency of the mountains. The property to be used to produce the chart layer is called JR_DRIFT. About half of Norway’s full-grown and surface-grown soils are mapped, with emphasis on South-Eastern Norway, Trøndelag and Jæren. In some places, inland pastures are also mapped. The map layer is made on a scale 1:5000 and is adapted for use on scales from 1:5000 to 1:20 000. Geographical object is Earth type.
