Dataset description

Mapped soil quality in the soil set shows an assessment of soil properties that are important for the agronomic use of the soil, as well as the degree of inclination of the agricultural area. The soil quality map is calculated regardless of climate and assumes that the Earth is driven according to good agronomic practice. About half of Norway’s full-grown and surface-grown soils are surveyed. The main emphasis of the mapped area is found in South-Eastern Norway, Trøndelag and Jæren. In some places, inland pastures are also mapped.
