Register of Archaeological Monuments

The series contains data on archaeological sites registered in the register, i.e. areas where they are located, in the original context (in situ), archaeological sources — relics of human activity in the past. Sites can manifest themselves on the surface in the form of a field form (garden, barrows, mounds, ruins) or movable archaeological monuments (usually fragments of ceramics) determining the existence of a settlement, graveyard or stands with a different function. The registration of archaeological monuments in the register is made by the provincial conservators of the monuments by means of a decision. On a national scale, there are more than 7,600 still archaeological sites in the register. The series contains 16 collections covering individual voivodships.
