The spatial dataset concerns the study of precipitation chemistry and the assessment of the deposition of pollutants into the ground, which are part of the air quality monitoring subsystem of the State Environmental Monitoring. The purpose of monitoring is to determine on a national scale the distribution of pollutant loads introduced with wet precipitation into the ground in spatial and temporal terms. Information on the load of forest areas, soils and surface waters with acidifying, biogenic and heavy metals deposited from the air can be used when creating and assessing the effectiveness of programs to reduce emissions of air pollutants, as well as when developing the fertilizer balance in water and forest management. The monitoring system operates on the basis of automatic stationary collectors (exposed only during rainfall). Research includes collecting rainfall samples and analyzing them on a monthly basis. In addition, daily rainfall samples are collected in separate collectors to measure the pH value taken directly at the stations.
