Dataset description

The Register of Mining Areas (ROG) is a detailed register of mining areas and mining countries in Poland. It is kept in register books and in the regularly updated, generally available MIDAS database (the Register of Mining Areas subsystem). Information on mining areas and mining countries is collected in the ROG database in the form of descriptive data (name, area, administrative location, status - current or canceled, number in the register, name of the deposit and type of mineral) and spatial data (contours of mining areas and mining countries).

In addition, the ROG database provides details of decisions establishing, changing and liquidating mining areas and areas (date of issue, publisher, expiry date) along with information on entrepreneurs exploiting minerals within the designated mining areas.
