Official Administrative Letter of Portugal — CAOP2022 (RAM)

CAOP records the state of delimitation and demarcation of the administrative districts of the country, that is, the official limits of district, municipality and parish (these limits also correspond to the NUTS I, NUTS II and NUTS III, in accordance with Law No 75/2013 of 12 September). Its preparation and conservation is one of the tasks of the Directorate-General of the Territory, in accordance with the provisions of Article 2(2)(l) of Regulatory Decree No. 30/2012 of March 13, and the allocation of the univocal code of each parish (DICOFRE) is the responsibility of the National Institute of Statistics. The Assembly of the Republic is the body with powers recognised by law to amend and set administrative limits. CAOP 2022 resulted from changes in administrative boundaries of parishes/municipalities, as well as changes in parish denominations, resulting from the publication of several diplomas, published between the date of publication of CAOP2021 and December 2022.
