Project for the execution of the Dredging of the Upper Zone of the Lagoon of Óbidos: Dredging Mechanism

Dredging is performed using a cutting, suction and repulsion dredge (DCSR), by successive advances ensured by fixing to the bottom with the stern cuttings, which are raised by hydraulic jacks and drop by gravity, thus ensuring fixation. Around these piles, the dredger describes rotations in both directions, directly and inversely, disaggregating the sediments hydraulically or mechanically and sucking them into the body of a repulsive pump that directs them, by floating, submerged and terrestrial pipes, to the place of deposition at sea, by repulsion arc method (Rainbow).
