Dataset description

Servitude and Restriction of Public Utility (SRUP) — Hydroagricultural Use Works, in force in mainland Portugal. The constitution of servitudes and restrictions of public utility related to Hydroagricultural Use Works follows the regime provided for in the law, being inserted within the scope of Natural Resources. Hydro-agricultural works are considered, namely, works for the use of water from the public domain for irrigation, drainage, rinsing and defense of land used in agriculture. The works of road infrastructure and the distribution of energy, necessary for the adaptation to the irrigation of the land benefited or for the improvement of existing irrigation, may also be considered. Hydro-agricultural development works are classified into four groups: Group I — works of national interest aimed at a profound transformation of the conditions of agrarian exploitation of a vast region; Group II — works of regional interest with high interest for the agricultural development of the region; Group III — works of local interest with high collective impact; Group IV — other collective works of local interest. The works of Groups I and II are of state initiative. The works of Groups III and IV are the initiative of local authorities and/or farmers, and those of Group III may also be State-initiative when they are of high economic and social interest. The geographical information provided through the respective web services was produced by the DGT and other official entities, from information legally deposited in the National Territorial Information System (SNIT) concerning the delimitation of servitude of Hydroagricultural Use Works.
