SRUP — Installations with Explosive Products

Servitude and Restriction of Public Utility (SRUP) — Explosive Product Facilities, in force in Continental Portugal. Facilities with Explosive Products and their safety zone constitute a servitude and restriction of public utility, being inserted within the scope of Dangerous Activities. In the location of establishments intended for the manufacture or storage of explosives, a safety area of varying width shall be guarded depending on the type of risk and the quantity of the existing explosives. For the establishment of the safe zone of establishments for the manufacture or storage of explosive products, the regulations relating to the Regulation on the Safety of Manufacturing or Storage of Explosive Products and the Regulation on the Licensing of Manufacturing and Storage of Explosive Products shall apply. Establishments for the manufacture or storage of explosives shall have in their surroundings a safety area the width of which is determined on the basis of the safety distances between the different manufacturing or storage buildings of the establishment and the inhabited buildings. The security zone shall be fixed in the licensing of the establishment for the manufacture or storage of explosives, with the issue of the licence authenticated by the Minister responsible for the area of Internal Affairs.
