Dataset description

Servitude and Restriction of Public Utility (SRUP) — Trees of Public Interest, in force in Continental Portugal. Trees of public interest are a servitude and restriction of public utility. Servitude relating to trees and groves in the public interest was constituted after the public interest classification of the tree or grove by the entity called the National Forest Authority, being published by notice in Diário da República. The public interest classification gives the grove a status similar to that of classified buildings, with trees and trees classified as a heritage of high ecological, landscape, cultural and historical value. The arrangement, including the cutting and pouring of trees into gardens, parks, woods or groves existing in the protection areas of national monuments, public interest buildings or State buildings of recognised architectural value and isolated specimens of plant species which, by their size, by their design, age or rarity, are classified in the public interest, shall be subject to prior authorisation from the entity called the National Forestry Authority. The geographical information provided through the respective web services was produced by DGT and other official entities, from information legally deposited in the National Territorial Information System (SNIT) concerning the delimitation of servitude of Trees of Public Interest.
