Dataset description

In accordance with the Slovenian Business Register Act, the Business Register of Slovenia (PRS) is the central public database of all business entities established in the territory of the Republic of Slovenia engaged in gainful or non-profit-making activities and on their branches and other parts of business entities. The PRS also contains data on branches of foreign business entities operating in the territory of the Republic of Slovenia. As an authorised provider of the activities of state statistics, AJPES, together with the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia and the Bank of Slovenia, carries out, in accordance with the regulations, certain tasks of collecting data for statistical surveys in electronic form. AJPES partially opened PRS data and publishes a file every 3 months in xml format with basic PRS data. Data on the registration number, full name, business address, legal form and registration authority are available for each business entity. AJPES updates the list every three months. The Slovenian Business Register (PRS) is the primary register for most business entities, since by entering the PRS, sole traders, commercial companies and natural persons — homeowners — are registered. For all other business entities (associations, trade unions, political parties and natural persons carrying out a registered activity), the PRS is a completed register, since these business entities are registered by registering in the primary register or official register with another registration body and only subsequently entered by AJPES in the PRS. Registration courts shall decide on the registration of companies and other entities for which the law provides that they are entered in the court register. On entries of data by sole proprietors (from 1. 7. 2005) and natural persons — homeowners (from 21. 1. 2008) The PRS is decided by AJPES. The Register of Digital Certificates (EDP) of legal representatives of business entities is also part of the PRS collection. Companies and other entities of entry in the court register make up 35 % of all business entities registered in the PRS, 42 % of all business entities are sole traders and natural persons — homeowners, and the other entities are 23 % of all PRS business entities.
