The central register of bovine animals contains information on the identification, registration and traceability of bovine animals in Slovenia. It contains data on the birth of individual animals, the import/entry into Slovenia, all movements between holdings (separate departure and arrival), death, slaughter, export/dispatch to the EU, or loss of animals. Thus, it is known at any time on which holding each animal is located. The database also keeps data on the surveillance carried out (supervision carried out by the AFSVSPP, AAMRD and IRSKGLR). It also contains a series of metadata.
The responsibility for reporting (data entry) lies with animal keepers. They can enter data themselves through web applications or through an established network of veterinary organisations and agroforestry institutions.
