Dataset description

This Eurobarometer survey performance differs from the standard Eurobarometer indicators. Respondents answer questions within two main themes: national and European identity and electromagnetic fields and health. The first set of respondents responds to how they identify with their current country of residence and country of birth, what it means to them to be European and how important this identity is to them. They answer questions about their connections with other countries, including their family members and friends abroad, and their lives, holidays and work abroad. They are asked about their mother tongue and knowledge of other languages, whether they would move abroad within the next ten years, whether they feel belonging to another country and why, and if they identify with a majority or minority social group. The second set of questions asks respondents about EMF awareness and its impact on health, concerns about these fields, whether they are effectively protected by public organisations against electromagnetic fields, and how the EU could intervene to reduce health risks. The demographic strand includes questions about the respondent’s age, gender, citizenship, marital status, occupation, education, household size, possession of a fixed or mobile phone, financial situation, social situation, Internet use, type and size of settlement and region of residence.
