Dataset description

This ISSP research focuses on attitudes towards national consciousness and identity. It asks respondents about the characteristics of national identity, identification with the state and nation, and national pride. He also asks about his personal pride in the functioning of democracy in the country, its political influence, the economic, social, scientific, sporting, artistic and military achievements of the country, its history and the equality of social groups in it. Respondents respond to positions regarding relations with other countries and international organisations (conflicts, national interest, respect for international law) and their attitudes towards minorities and immigrants. They are also asked about their nationality and the nationality of their parents at the time of birth of the respondent. The demographic strand includes questions about the respondent’s age, gender, education, employment, occupation, marital status, trade union membership, religious beliefs, participation in the last election, elected party (left-right), ethnic membership, household size, income, parents’ country of birth and region of residence.
