Energy performance certificates of buildings on the basis of Article 68d of the Energy Act are produced by independent experts (licensed) as authorised legal or natural persons at the customer’s request. The energy performance certificate may only be issued by authorised legal entities — issuers who are authorised to issue an energy performance certificate of a building by the competent minister after a public competition.
The energy performance certificate of a building is a document with information on the energy performance of a building and with recommendations for increasing energy efficiency. It is a measure aimed at improving the information of the consumer, i.e. the one who wants to buy or rent a building or apartment. The building is a consumer of energy, so it makes sense to check how energy-saving or wasteful it is before deciding to buy or rent.
