Dataset description

The Fukushima nuclear accident in Japan on 11 March 2011 triggered the need for coordinated action at EU level to identify possible further improvements to nuclear safety. To this end, the European Council of 25 March 2011 concluded that the safety of all nuclear power plants in the EU should be subject to thorough comprehensive and transparent risk and safety assessments, the so-called ‘stress tests’.
