Dataset description

The Concessions database (points) contains data on the geographical definition of the water source (capture, release, centroid or boundary points of the area dedicated to the exercise of the water right) where the water right defined in the concession and entered in the Water Book is granted. A concession must be obtained for the use of water for: — the production of beverages, — the needs of baths, heating and the like if mineral, thermal or thermal mineral water is used, — hydroelectric power generation with an installed power equal to or greater than 10 MW; and — removal of debris, except in the case of the provision of a public service under this Act. The granting of water rights through concessions and record keeping is regulated by the Waters Act (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No 67/02 and amendments), and by the Rules on the Water Book (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No 10/12).
