Dataset description

The CLC 2006 ground cover base is made from a combination of the CLC 2000 base and the base of changes in land cover between 2000 and 2006. The base of change was created with the help of a visual interpretation of satellite images. In the event of an error in the CLC 2000 database, this base has also been corrected. This results in a corrected CLC 2000 base. The data is intended for a countrywide land use and cover database that is comparable to other countries in Europe. Examples of use in Slovenia: — for reporting to the European Environment Agency: on water, sealing and soil cover, on the state of the sea and coastline, the European Commission: in the intercalibration exercise of measuring points on surface watercourses, — to update the groundwater quality monitoring network, — as a basis for the implementation of soil monitoring, — as a cover indicator, — as the base layer of the Inspire project, — as the basis for the Nopolu project, — as the basis for Natura 2000. Examples of use in Europe: — modelling of soil pollution in the black triangle on the German-Czech-Polish three-point — identification of the risk of soil erosion in Slovakia, — modelling of phosphorus concentration in rivers in Slovakia, Hungary and Romania, — delimitation of less favourable agricultural land in Poland, — production of a tourist map of Slovakia, — identification of changes in the use of the landscape in Slovakia. Areas of application of CLC in Europe: — spatial analyses, — evaluation and evaluation of data on land cover, land use and land quality, — presentation of changes, — landscape analysis, — landscape indicators, — analysis of watercourses and wetland use, — development of GIS for NATURA 2000 purposes — identification of changes for the purposes of habitat determination and exposure assessments of vulnerable areas, — CO2 emission assessment, — data on cover around monitoring stations, — new allocation of air quality parameters according to cover data, — impact of transport, removal of land for transport purposes, — impact on protected areas.
