La determinación de concentraciones de clorofila-a es uno de los índices claves de monitoreo de la población de fitoplancton y de la salud de nuestro sistema natural. Además la medición de clorofila-a puede ser utilizada como instrumento de vigilancia de los procesos de eutrofización.
