Dataset description

Seasonal NDVI anomaly calculated from NOAA satellite images captured by the AVHRR (Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer) sensor. The AVHRR sensor collects information in 5 spectral bands: visible, near-infrared and 3 thermal infrared, all with a resolution of 1 000 m. The 2008 NDVI seasonal anomaly is calculated from the difference between the seasonal averages of 2008 and the historical seasonal averages 93-08, grouping December 2007, January and February 2008 in winter; March, April and May 2008 in spring; June, July and August 2008 in summer; September, October and November 2008 in autumn.
