Dataset description

NDVI seasonal mean calculated from NOAA satellite images captured by the AVHRR (Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer) sensor. The AVHRR sensor collects information in 5 spectral bands: visible, near-infrared and 3 thermal infrared, all with a resolution of 1 000 m. The 2006 NDVI seasonal average is calculated from the monthly averages, grouping December 2005, January and February 2006 in winter; March, April and May 2006 in spring; June, July and August 2006 in summer; September, October and November 2006 in autumn.
