Areas vulnerable to nitrate pollution, update 2015

Demarcation of vulnerable zones to nitrates of agricultural origin. This is the area of land whose runoff flows into the waters concerned, or which could be affected if no action is taken, by nitrate pollution from agricultural sources and areas of the land contributing to such pollution (Directive 91/676/EC on the protection of waters against pollution caused by nitrates from agricultural sources). These areas shall be included in the Register of Protected Areas of the Basin Hydrological Plan. This layer of Vulnerable Zones corresponds to those sent to the European Commission in the quadrennial report 2008-2011 in response to the Nitrates Directive.
