Dataset description
Raster (200 m resolution) of bioclimatic variables: water balance, availability of time for primary production, real evapotranspiration, aridity index, continentality index, water indices, annual and monthly ombrothermal index, drought index, thermocity index, compensated thermocity index, sum of deficits, sum of surpluses, positive temperature and thermotype, referring to the climatic periods 1961-2000 (reference), 2011-2040, 2041-2070 and 2071-2099, different models (CLIMA subsystem, ERA40, CNM3, EGMAM, ECHAM, BCM2) and climate change scenarios (A1b, A2 and B1). Developed within the framework of the Climate Change Scenarios project updated to the 4th IPPC Report. 200 m resolution. Each of these rasters is accompanied by the necessary information to know the characteristics of the elaboration process, databases and vectors of points and polygons, from which they have been generated. Bioclimatic variables are described below: — Water balance. Sum of the water balances at the end of each month, assuming a soil without limit of field capacity, without runoff or lateral contributions. In the monthly calculation of water balance, precipitation, potential evapotranspiration and balance of the previous month are involved. — Availability of time for primary production. Annual calculation of hours in which the conditions for primary production are met: positive water balance and temperature greater than 7.5 °C. — Real evapotranspiration. Annual sum of the actual evapotranspiration. — Aridity index. Relationship between reference evapotranspiration and annual precipitation. — Continentality index. Value indicating the degree of oscillation of the average annual temperatures. — Sum of deficits. Annual sum of negative differences between precipitation and reference evapotranspiration. — Sum of surpluses. Annual sum of positive differences between precipitation and reference evapotranspiration. — Annual water index. Value indicating the annual amount of water available, depending on surpluses, deficits and ETo. — Annual humidity index. Value indicating the annual amount of water available, depending on precipitation and ETo. — Positive temperature. Accumulated mean temperature if it is greater than 0 °C. — Annual and monthly ombrothermic index. Relationship between precipitation and positive temperature. — Duration of drought. Number of months in which the average temperature value is above precipitation. — Drought intensity. Area of interception between precipitation curves and average temperature, in dry months. — Thermicity index and thermicity index compensated. Value indicating the thermicity of a place according to the average, maximum and average temperature. — Thermotype. Climatic classification according to the compensated thermality index.
