Characterisation of the Andalusian coastline: 2007

The coastline represents the linear segment that runs along the margin of the Andalusian coast in contact with the sea, from its inception in Portugal to its eastern end in Murcia. To obtain it, four digitisation criteria have been used that define the coastline from a geomorphological perspective with a clear intentionality applied: I) Last wet tide mark in sedimentary coastal formations exposed to the open sea (beaches). ii) Lower tide limit (among all available orthrows) for estuaries and tidal network. iii) External limit of infrastructures for all types of infrastructure in direct contact with the sea. iv) Cliff base for rock formations directly connected to the sea.
