Control Emissions to the Atlantic (OSPAR RID Programme)

This control allows to evaluate annually all the emissions or discharges of a series of pollutants that occur through the rivers that pour their waters into the Atlantic Ocean (Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the North-East Atlantic-OSPAR and RID-Riverine Inputs and Direct Discharges Program). The parameters that are checked in a mandatory way are: Total mercury, Total cadmium, Total copper, Total zinc, Total lead, HCH (Lindane), Ammonia (expressed as N), Nitrates (expressed as N), Orthophosphates (expressed as P), Total Nitrogen, Total Phosphorus, Suspensioned Solids, Salinity (in saline waters).
