La malla estadística 1Kmx1Km (ig09_malla_1Km) está compuesta por celdas cuadradas de 1 Km de lado para toda Andalucía. Esta malla divide al territorio andaluz en 89.346 celdas homogéneas con las que se cubren los más de 87.000 km2 de su extensión. La malla sigue las indicaciones derivadas de las experiencias llevadas a cabo por el proyecto Geostat (ESSnet project Geostat) del Foro Europeo de Geografía y Estadística (EFGS) y sus celdas se codifican con un sistema estándar de acuerdo a la directiva Inspire
