CyL Mining Cadastre: grid

Cartographic mesh that establishes a subdivision of areas based on grids as support for the elaboration of the mining cadastre of Castilla y León. According to Law 22/1973 of 21 July, of Minas, a mesh formed by geographical grids is created that serve as a reference to give high mining rights. Each mining right must be adjusted to the vertices of this mesh. It is a mesh formed by elements between two parallels and two meridians, whose separation is twenty sexagesimal seconds, which coincide with whole degrees and minutes and with a number of seconds of twenty or forty.
