Dataset description

The Catalog of humid zones of the Balearic Islands is included in the Hydrological Plan of the Balearic Islands approved by Royal Decree 51/2019, of 8 February. This Catalog includes the mapping of wet areas of natural or artificial origin. According to article 275.2 of the Regulation of Hydraulic Public Domain wetlands are considered marshes, peat bogs or shallow waters, whether permanent or temporary, are integrated by stagnant or running water and whether it is fresh, brackish or saline, natural or artificial.The Catalog includes the cartography of potential areas, understood as those areas that could potentially be transformed into a wet zone.
