Dataset description

The cartography included in this service contains the draft official mapping of the territorial areas of the Hydrographic Confederations defined in Article 1 of Royal Decree 650/1987 of 8 May 1987 defining the territorial areas of river basin organisms and hydrological plans. This cartography will be part of Order AAA/xxx/2017, of xx of xxxxxx, currently in public consultation, which defines the lines indicating the cartographic limits of the territorial areas of the Hydrographic Confederations in accordance with the provisions of Royal Decree 650/1987 of 8 May 1987. The purpose of this official cartographic delimitation is to have a precise reference that specifies the exact line that indicates the boundary between the two areas, a question that sometimes gives rise to controversies based on the use of different topographic reference bases for the mapping of hydrographic dividers. This mapping does not change, as it could not be otherwise, the provisions of the aforementioned Royal Decree. This cartography only includes the limits between Hydrographic Confederations, without representing either the international borders, nor the Costa line, since the officialisation of these boundary lines (which will generate the closure in polygons of the areas of the Confederations) is not the responsibility of this Ministry.
