Geographical Nomenclator of Andalusia

The information contained in the Geographical Nomenclator of Andalusia (NGA) comprises the largest and smallest set of toponymy existing in the Andalusian territory, making society available through public and free services on the Internet such as the Searcher of geographical names, of an informative nature, and, more technically, two interoperable WFS denomenclator services for download, one of them adapted to the requirements of the Inspire standard. The NGA, considered as a standard and geographical reference infrastructure and equipment of toponymy and managed by a maintenance application (mNga), is a dynamic record that provides an extensive georeferenced database with information of more than 150,000 place names or geographical identifiers located with a geometry of more than 200,000 points, mainly from official basic mapping at 1:10.000 scale. This activity covers the entire territory of Andalusia. Its database is reused by other infrastructures such as IDEAndalucía, Line@, Telegeo and the Provincial Councils of Seville and Malaga, allowing the consultation and/or downloading of data by society in general.
