Dataset description
Annual cloud-free compounds, formed from all the daily images available during 2013 from the “Defense Meteorologycal Satellite Program” (DMSP) satellites taken by the “Operational Linescan System” (OLS) sensor and that have no resolution problems. In cases where more than one satellite collects data during this year, there are compounds from each satellite. Images that are illuminated by the sun or glare, those that are illuminated by the Moon and those that are illuminated by the aurora are excluded from the compound. The images have pixels of 30 arcseconds and comprise the entire Earth. There are three types of compound, see the lineage and the data model.
