The Service is made up of layers that refer to protected and vulnerable areas that aim to maintain a good ecological and chemical status of surface water bodies and the good chemical and quantitative status of groundwater bodies:
- Wetlands
- Temporary ponds and flooded cavities
- River Natural Reserves
- Areas vulnerable to nitrate pollution of agricultural origin (Decret 110/2010)
- Areas sensitive to risk of eutrophication (Decret 49/2003)
- Provisions for supplies to the population (art. 87 PHIB)
- Vulnerability to aquifer pollution
