Maritime limits published in official documents (BOE, Royal Decrees, Agreements,...) of the Kingdom of Spain including: Drawing straight baselines in development of Law 20/1967, of 8 April, on the extension of Spanish jurisdictional waters to 12 miles, for fishing purposes (Royal Decree 2510/1977, “BOE” No. 234 of 30 September 1977); Convention between Spain and France on the Limitation of the Territorial Sea and the Contiguous Area in the Gulf of Vizacya (Gulf of Gascuña) (BOE 159, 4 July 1975); Agreement between the Government of the Spanish State and the Government of the French Republic concerning the delimitation of Continental Shelfs between two States in the Gulf of Vizacaya (Gulf of Gascuña) (BOE 163, 9 July 1975); Agreement between Spain and Italy on the delimitation of the Continetal Platform between the two States (BOE 290, 5 December 1978); and Limits of Spain’s Exclusive Economic Zone in the North-West Mediterranean (BOE 92, April 17, 2013). Royal Decree 1545/2007, of 23 November, regulating the National Cartographic System establishes in its article 20 that they will have to register in the RCC among others the straight baselines and the limits corresponding to the Continental Shelf. Likewise, in Article 22, point 2c, the IHM is responsible for referring to the RCC those cartographic technical aspects necessary for the representation of straight baselines and maritime delimitations once approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation. It should be noted that, in general, the geometry with which each line appears inscribed in the RCC has a geometric uncertainty due, mainly to its antiquity, since they were obtained from mapping of very small scales and also in ED50 datum, forcing its transformation to the ETRS89 datum.
