Dataset description

Mapping of the Special Protection Areas for Birds (SPAs) of Castilla y León. Together with the Special Conservation Areas (SACs), the Natura 2000 Network is part of the Network of Natural Protected Areas (RANP) of Castilla y León (Law 4/2015 of 24 March 2015 on Natural Heritage of Castile and Leon). Declared by Decree 57/2015 of 10 September 2015 declaring Special Conservation Areas and Special Protection Areas for Birds, and regulating the basic management and conservation planning of the Natura 2000 Network in Castilla y León. Layer formed by the aggregation of the cartographic adaptation of the boundaries of the SPAs of Castilla y León on a scale 1:10.000. Cartographic adaptation of the limits of a space to the cartographic adjustment aimed at increasing its accuracy and reliability, which derives from the improvement of the analysis instruments and cartographic bases from its definition. These limits have been adapted, as a general rule, to the official cartography (basic, thematic or derivative), of greater precision in force, with legal validity or territorial representation. The proposals for these mapping adjustments were made available to the public in conjunction with the proposal for a declaration of the SACs and SPAs, through the Resolution of 8 October 2014 of the Ministry of Promotion and Environment, which submitted to the public the draft decree declaring the Special Areas of Conservation and Special Protection Areas for Birds and regulating the basic management and conservation planning of the Natura 2000 Network in the Community of Castilla y León. These adjustments have been approved by Resolution of 14 January 2017 of the Directorate-General for Natural Environment, approving and publicising the adjustments to the limits of the Special Areas of Conservation and the Special Protection Areas for Birds of the Natura 2000 Network of Castilla y León.
