The Sites of Community Importance (SCI) are proposed by the different competent administrations, then they must be designated as Special Conservation Areas (SACs), these together with the Special Protection Areas for Birds (SPAs) make up the Natura 2000 network. The first declarations were initiated in April 1997.
The information presented corresponds to the update of 14 December 2021, according to the information from the Natura 2000 sites sent by the Ministry to the European Commission up to that date. SCI data become official only when the respective biogeographical lists of SCIs are approved by the European Commission.
