Dataset description

Spatial data set corresponding to the two upper geographic entity levels of the EU-Registry data model: • Industrial site (SITE level), considered as an industrial zone that can host different PRTR industrial complexes that have a functional relationship between them, but that may have a different ownership. • Industrial complex (Facility level), considered as one or a group of industrial installations with the same owner and that report jointly to the PRTR registry. It should be noted that in Spain, and for greater administrative simplicity it is considered for the moment that the Site>Facility>Installation levels have a one-to-one relationship, so that the information is reported by the holder or the AACC to the system at the same level, although the internal structure of the system is already prepared so that in the future this can change, according to the scheme defined from Europe (EU-Registry). This allows, for simplification purposes, to generate two different CDEs, of which the first is the one described here: • The first corresponding to the complexes/facilities for which then emissions or transfers of waste are reported in CDE1 and CDE2 • The second corresponding with Installations/Instalations, which is the level for which industries have an Integrated Environmental Authorisation IPPC/DEI. The information contained in this table is similar to that contained in the EU-Registry, but in the Spanish case the complexes subject to obligations are not identical and there are some additional activities. Only one register is incorporated for each complex, with the most up-to-date information contained in PRTR-Spain at the date of production of this CDE, and also including complexes that have ceased their activity. In relation to the activities of the complexes, the activities of the single unified list DEI-PRTR established by the EEA and the European Commission are included, but also those corresponding to the single Spanish IPPC-PRTR list, based on and similar to the first, but not identical. Not all PRTR-Spain complexes are reported to the European Union, as they correspond to national categories not subject to reporting or below the established European threshold. The fields included correspond to the following information typology: • Basic features of the complex • Geographic location • Activity • Information about Competent Authorities
