Dataset description

Geographical location of the population entities of Castilla y León based on specific geometries. Two types of entities are distinguished: — ‘INE population centre’: They are the population nuclei included in the INE Padron. In general they are sets of at least ten buildings, which are forming streets, squares and other urban roads. More info. at: https://www.ine.es/nomen2/Metodologia.do — ‘JCYL settlement’: They are population settlements that are not considered as a population nucleus by the INE. The data of these settlements are collected solely for cartographic and toponymic purposes, without any legal or administrative consideration. In general, they will be settlements that the INE considers to be included in the category of unidentified spreads. This point geometry layer is harmonised with the surface geometry layer of “CyL Population Entities: Contours”.
