Dataset description

WFS service HIC 2015. It constitutes the state of information, as of July 2015, of the work being carried out since REDIAM to review the terrestrial Habitats of Community Interest (HIC) listed in Annex I to the Habitat Directive (Council Directive 92/43/EEC of 21 May 1992 on the conservation of natural habitats and of wild fauna and flora), they are studied from the point of view of the interpretation, location, delimitation and assessment of the conservation status. The interpretation of HICs and their territorial delimitation is a complex task in a wide and biodiverse territory such as Andalusia, where 72 different terrestrial habitats have been detected, some of which are subdivided for better understanding and constitute 99 layers of information. Each of them includes a peculiar casuistry, where it is not always easy to transfer the definition of the HIC to the territory, configure its relationship with phytosociology or detect them based on photointerpretation, the main tool available. This publication is the third, part of the information published in 2013, and constitutes the current reference information on distribution for HICs in Andalusia. This information is continuously updated and improved thanks to the management process and specific work. Node of the Environmental Information Network of Andalusia. Junta de Andalucia. Integrated into the Spatial Data Infrastructure of Andalusia, following the guidelines of the Andalusian Cartographic System.
