REDIAM. WMS Analysis of the Guadiamar River after the Aznalcóllar accident (sludge, heavy metals and water quality). Water Analysis

WMS service corresponding to the following 3 layers: 1 — Cartography of the dumping of sludge into the Guadiamar River after the Aznalcóllar accident in 1998. A SPOT orthoimage taken in April 1998 was used as a baseline and photointerpretation. It contains information on the level of affectation of the discharge of acidic water and the discharge of sludge, as well as its average thickness. 2 — Sampling points (23) taken in the basin of the Agrio and Guadiamar River. The parameters used for the analysis are varied: concentration of Cu, Zn, As, Cd, Sb and Tl in filtered, unfiltered water, sediments, plankton, perifiton and macroinvertebrates; Tª, pH, conductivity and alkalinity of water. The assessment of the effects of the discharge covers the period 1998-2000. Scale 1:50,000. 3 — Study of the heavy metals of the Guadalquivir estuary, taking 14 sampling points.
