Dataset description

Node of the Environmental Information Network of Andalusia. Junta de Andalucia. Annual compounds of stable and cloud-free lights, formed from all the daily nocturnal images available during 1999 of the satellites -Defense Meteorologycal Satellite Program- (DMSP) taken by the sensor -Operational Linescan System- (OLS). Images that are illuminated by the sun or glare, those that are illuminated by the Moon and those that are illuminated by the aurora are excluded from the compound. It is an ortorectified nocturnal visual product that gives a fairly complete idea of the levels of lighting to which the inhabited areas are subjected. The images have spatial resolution of 700 m sampled to 100 m and cover the territorial scope of Andalusia. In cases where more than one satellite collects data during this year, there are compounds from each satellite. Node of the Environmental Information Network of Andalusia. Junta de Andalucia. Integrated into the Spatial Data Infrastructure of Andalusia, following the guidelines of the Andalusian Cartographic System. NOTE: The OLS sensor has no calibration on board, and no gain settings are recorded in image capture.Therefore, although annual cloud-free compounds are generated using the same algorithms and with precise criteria for selecting the images that make it up, the ND value of the pixels is not strictly comparable from one year to the next.Junta de Andalucia.
