REDIAM. WMS HIC 3190 Karst lakes and lagoons on plasters

WMS service corresponding to the Habitat of non-priority Community Interest 3190 of small lakes and generally permanent lagoons developed in areas of rise of water in areas with active karstification on materials rich in plaster. These bodies of water are characterised by large fluctuations of level (up to 2.5 m) determined by the level of the underlying aquifer and the amount of precipitation. Its depth does not usually exceed 7 m (this is not the case in Spain), although the stratification of its waters is well developed (from spring to early autumn). The dissolution of the casts gives their waters high concentrations of Ca2+ and SO42 ions. These conditions allow the development of planktonic populations and biofilms of purple and green sulfur bacteria. The communities of Charetea, Lemnetea and Potamogetonion make up the dominant elements in vegetation. Node of the Environmental Information Network of Andalusia. Junta de Andalucia.
