Dataset description
WMS service corresponding to the Habitat of Community Interest proposed as a priority for Andalusia 8130-1, habitat formed by rocks, rock blocks and accumulations of stones that form courts, walls, gleras, pebbles, earthy slopes, rocky and earthy pavements, etc., of serpentine or peridotitic lithology. Serpentines and peridotites are igneous rocks of plutonic origin that are characterised by a composition rich in heavy metals (chrome, nickel, cobalt, etc.), toxic to many plants, to which is linked the infertility of the soils, characterised by the low content of calcium and nutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium) and high proportion of iron and magnesium. These characteristics give rise to a high endemicity in the flora, since only a part of the species are able to live in these conditions. Both the plant communities and most of the flora that is located in this habitat are endemic and exclusive. Among the characteristic species of HIC are Armeria colorata, Armeria carratracensis, Centaurea haenseleri, Centaurea lainzii, Notholaena marantae, Saxifraga gemmulosa, Silene fernandezii, etc. Node of the Environmental Information Network of Andalusia. Junta de Andalucia. Integrated into the Spatial Data Infrastructure of Andalusia, following the guidelines of the Andalusian Cartographic System.
