REDIAM. WMS Landscape Map of Andalusia

REDIAM. WMS service of the Map of landscapes of Andalusia where landscape areas, areas and categories are represented. The landscape map of Andalusia is composed of two levels: the categories, areas and landscape areas shown in this service and, at a second level, the physiomic units, which can be viewed through an independent map service. The 6 landscape categories are based on the interpretation of a mosaic of satellite images, and respond to large sets of morphology and land uses that connect with the types of landscape envisaged for Europe in the Dobris Report of the European Environment Agency (1995). Its representation on the map is made by plots of different shape and color for each of the categories of landscape. The categories are divided into 19 landscape areas, which mark transitions between categories or geographical situations that give morphological imprints, plant cover or use of the territory to these areas. On this map they have been represented by different frames of solid colors. For the definition of the 81 landscape areas, we have again used an interpretation of satellite images at 1:100,000 scale, this time combining in the interpretation observation criteria (such as homogeneity of colors, textures and structures) and others that are linked to sociocultural and spatial planning aspects, so that their limits correspond to physical and cultural realities and whose cartographic representation is made on the map by means of a black line.
