Dataset description

Node of the Environmental Information Network of Andalusia. Junta de Andalucia. WMS service corresponding to the differences of NDVI and NBR images from Sentinel 2A images from June 1 and July 1, 2017, at 10 m resolution, in the area of the Las Peñuelas fire, Moguer (Huelva). The Sentinel 2A satellite is part of the European Union’s Copernicus program with a resolution of 10, 20.60 m and 13 spectral bands. In the difference image of the Standardised Vegetation Index (NDVI) determined from the difference of the NDVI images obtained for a date before and after the fire, a sharp decrease of NDVI (due to the disappearance of vegetation) is shown, being able to discriminate areas that have undergone sudden changes, from other areas without apparent changes. The RBR (Relativised Burn Ratio) index (Parks et al, 2014) is calculated with the pre-fire Sentinel images (01/06/2017) and post-fire (01/07/2017), dates very close to each other, thus minimising the changes in the phenology of vegetation that could affect this index. The levels of affectation are calibrated by the use of data collected in a field sample (56 plots in total). Node of the Environmental Information Network of Andalusia. Junta de Andalucia. Integrated into the Spatial Data Infrastructure of Andalusia, following the guidelines of the Andalusian Cartographic System. Node of the Environmental Information Network of Andalusia.
