REDIAM. WMS Map of the strategic areas of the Master Plan for the Improvement of Ecological Connectivity in Andalusia

WMS service corresponding to the identification of strategic areas proposed in the Master Plan for the improvement of ecological connectivity in Andalusia. These areas have included the calculation of Terrestrial Ecological Connectivity Indexes (ICTAs), both general and by large types of landscapes (independent or unified in different groups and associations); identification and valuation of ecological axes and corridors at regional level; the analysis of fragmentation effects caused by the presence of existing and planned terrestrial infrastructures or associated with phenomena of dispersion of urban patterns and strong habitat transformations; and the general assessment of the availability and status of the elements that can to a greater extent favour the diversification of agricultural and forest-based landscapes and, in general, promote the increase of permeability of the whole territorial matrix (opportunity areas such as riverbanks, public mountains, livestock roads, island forests and isolated forest enclaves, etc.). All these levels of diagnosis have made it possible to approximate the fragmentation patterns that occur in the Autonomous Community and its effects on ecological connectivity, through comprehensive and inclusive approaches that until now had not been implemented, at regional level, in Andalusia.
