WMS service of sensitivity to desertification in Andalusia referred to the years 1956, 1999, 2003, 2040, 2070 and 2100. The diagnosis of sensitivity to degradation-desertification (Assessment and multi-temporal monitoring of desertification in Andalusia through a Geographic Information System within the DESERTNET II Project) has been carried out according to the MEDALUS methodology (Kosmas et al., 1999) that allows to identify areas vulnerable or sensitive to desertification through the application of biophysical and socio-economic indicators. The study is based on the implementation of four quality indices of factors directly related to desertification: soil, climate, vegetation and land management. Within each factor, an analysis of the main parameters or indicators that mark their sensitivity to degradation is performed. The processes of crossing information are carried out by geometric means and subsequent classification. The results obtained from the application of this method must be interpreted not as a diagnosis of desertified areas, but as an expression of the fragility of the territories before this problem, in short the areas potentially susceptible to development or that are currently suffering processes associated with desertification.
